In her book, Abbas blends personal story with political urgency, exposing China’s genocide through detention camps, surveillance, forced sterilization, slavery, and cultural erasure. She also shares excerpts from her late father's unpublished memoir, offering a rare Uyghur perspective on Mao’s Cultural Revolution.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama shared a heartfelt message regarding the book and the Uyghur plight, “As a Tibetan, I have deep empathy for others like the Uyghur people who China’s Communist government also oppresses...In Unbroken, Rushan Abbas reveals the truth of the Uyghur people’s plight.”
The book also features forewords by leading China scholar Dr. Adrian Zenz and foreign policy expert Dr. Kenneth Weinstein and serves as a historic testimony and appeal to the international community to break their silence.

Unbroken is an urgent call to action for policymakers, advocates, and all those committed to defending human dignity,” said John Moolenaar, U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the House Select Committee on the CCP.
“Rushan Abbas is an incredibly strong person, refusing to be silent amid tragedy and transnational repression,” said Thomas R. Suozzi, U.S. Congressman and Co-Chair of the Congressional Uyghur Caucus. “America must confront authoritarianism with the moral leadership and courage this moment demands.”
“Her leadership and unwavering advocacy have played a tremendous role in shining a much-needed light on the horrific treatment of Uyghurs by the Chinese Communist Party,” noted Young Kim, U.S. Congresswoman and Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific stated, “Everyone should read and share Rushan’s story.”
